World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to increase an item's gear score up to 700 and also add a final perk. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory, and then taking them to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading because of their distinctive stats. (For instance, a perfectly broken point armor that is rolled can be used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons don't change much after an upgrade and aren't worth the cost.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can improve their numerical stats, including attack damage, crit chance, and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Some weapons also come with a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a single unit. This bonus may be greater than the damage a weapon upgrade alone can cause.
The cost of upgrading a weapon depends on its rarity and current level. For instance, a +2 weapon will require two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade the gun will increase until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.
The upgrade of weapons can also change their base stats. This is usually a positive factor, but it could also have negative effects. Upgrades can make things impossible to use, unless you are exceptionally lucky.
It is possible to upgrade armor items to boost their stats. For example, if you upgrade chests or helms, it will boost its defense base while gloves and belts will increase their strength and dexterity. Armor has a rerolling feature for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it may reduce its value.
The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats it will get when upgraded, along with their relative values. This means that a weapon will gain 3% attack damage if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% difference does not mean that the weapon will be hit 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.
A weapon can also be rerolled using the green button, which is accompanied by circling arrows in the item menu. This will reroll the item and change its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's levels or connect to the status of your account.
Armor
A few armor upgrades can make the world of difference to your survivability. Certain sets can offer massive increases in resistance to curses, poison, fire, and magic. This makes it easier to traverse difficult terrains. In general, the more defense you have on your character, the more health you will receive from each point. Therefore, it's a good idea to upgrade your armor.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains within the game and to unlock each one you have to complete a side quest that involves the Stable Trotters. After you've completed your main quest and the associated fountains, you can talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.
The amount of materials needed to upgrade each piece of armor will vary. It is possible to use anything from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the initial armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade the next one. The Champion Leathers, for instance can be upgraded to a +5 defense rating, which will allow you to remain competitive in cold environments with a lot of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other is able to be upgraded to +20 defense to ensure you're able to survive a battle with your comrades.
Note that armor can't be upgraded in the same manner as weapons, so you'll have to focus on upgrading it for physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power in the case of Mage. It's also worthwhile to save your armor upgrades to use for armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you wear to fight the final boss and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

Potions
Potions are substances in bottles that, if consumed, give the user a temporary status effect. There are five types of potions, each having specific effects and durations. To upgrade a potion, click right on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This opens a GUI in which you can select the potions you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they will produce when upgraded. Upgrading potions can be done in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP that they generate will be added to your current XP count.
Once a potion has been upgraded, it won't degrade until you re-use it, or break the bottle it is stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to change the name of the potion.
There were a few updates to the mechanics of potions in version 1.7.2. For instance the splash potions now have a duration of 0:08 (this is not the equivalent of 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the item hover display). The table for potion is now made of four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It can be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions cannot be combined in cauldrons. The same is true for using a potion within the cauldron that is filled. This will draw out the potion and refill the bottle.
Lastly, there are now lingering potions that are made using dragon breath and splash potions. Similar to lingering potions, the can be enhanced by adding redstone to it. The table of potion ingredients has been rearranged to appear more like the Java Edition. New potions are also added, like the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.
Trinkets

Trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher ilvl after they no longer have value and the new trinket can be upgraded to have an additional 1% upgrade bonus. However, a re-upgrade is likely to cause the trinket to be destroyed, unless it is saved using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an alternative salvage tool that is higher-end.
